From 1 July 2014, it will be necessary to certify EN 1090-1

The Construction Products Regulation (CPR) has specify that it will be obligatory to certify in accordance to BS EN 1090-1 “Execution of steel structures and aluminium structures” for all steel and aluminium structures.

The goal is to show, thought the certification, the conformity to harmonized standards or, in alternative, in compliance with the European Technical Assessment (ETA).

From 1st of July 2014, in order to market steel and aluminium elements structural in Europe, it will be compulsory to put the EC marking in accordance with the rule EN 1090-1.

The scope of the rule extends to all companies placing on the market of steel and aluminum components, including, for example, sheds, steel and concrete bridges and pylons.

The EN 1090-01 defines the requirements for certification divided into 4 performance classes that are more selective with the increasing complexity of the structure.
